Forward-Deployed Engineer
We are looking for FDE professionals who can leverage Incident Lake to maximize customer resilience!
Job Description
The mission of FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) is to deliver our proprietary product, "Incident Lake," to our clients' environments and maximize its value, thereby taking our customers' business resilience to the highest possible level.
Rather than simply implementing tools, we are expected to “solve problems by any means necessary, using the best possible approach.” In the upstream phase, we engage with CxOs and senior management to identify the root causes of issues. In the downstream phase, we optimize client-specific workflows, implement customizations using APIs, and sometimes even delve into the infrastructure configuration of existing systems.
Your role is not simply to “sell a product,” but to “use Incident Lake to optimize customers’ operations and help them transform into highly resilient organizations.”
[Main Responsibilities]
Strategic Consulting: Identified bottlenecks in incident response through dialogue with senior management.
Business Process Redesign: In conjunction with the implementation of Incident Lake, we have fundamentally optimized the client’s existing workflows.
Technical Delivery: Integration and interoperability with the client environment, as well as implementation tailored to the specific environment.
Product Feedback: Share insights gained in the field with the development team and incorporate them into the product roadmap.
Eligibility Requirements (Required)
Language proficiency: Japanese N1 level or native proficiency (ability to handle complex interest reconciliation and logical negotiations).
Executive Communication: The ability to translate technical value into solutions for business challenges and present them to CxOs and senior management.
In-depth understanding of cloud infrastructure: Experience in architecture design and operations using major cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Practical experience in incident management: At least five years of experience in a role such as incident manager, with a thorough understanding of decision-making processes in crisis situations.
Qualifications (Preferred)
Advanced coding skills: Ability to develop glue code to integrate Incident Lake with the client’s existing systems, as well as skills in developing custom tools.
Insights from SRE (Site Reliability Engineering): Experience with automation to improve reliability and fostering a culture of post-mortems.
Experience in building data analytics platforms: Knowledge of BI tools and data pipelines for analyzing accumulated incident data and visualizing trends.
Understanding of enterprise IT: Knowledge necessary to address the complex requirements of security governance and authentication systems (such as IDP integration) in large enterprises.
Ideal Candidate
A commitment to "value maximization": Someone who prioritizes "what’s best for the client" above all else, avoids getting tied to specific technologies or methods, and is not afraid to tackle the nitty-gritty of coordination or dismantle inefficient processes.
Can view technology purely as a "means to an end": Someone who enjoys exploring the latest technologies but, more importantly, can focus on "who that technology will benefit."
Enjoys chaos: Someone with the autonomy to dive into unstructured environments and set their own milestones in uncertain situations.
Strong sense of ownership: The commitment to treat the client’s challenges as “our own” and see the project through to a successful conclusion.
What Makes This Position Attractive
In-depth Problem Solving Through "Product × Expertise"
In addition to our powerful AI platform, "Incident Lake," we offer comprehensive solutions that combine professional services—ranging from 24/7 support to the development of post-incident analysis (measures to prevent recurrence).
Acquiring advanced project management skills
By working on critical aspects of corporate operations such as incident response, you will develop the ability to solve critical issues through close collaboration with in-house engineers and consultants.
Become a pioneer in the growing "reliability" market
As digital transformation accelerates, "system stability" has become a lifeline for businesses. In this growing field, you can build a career as a "reliability engineer"—a role that goes beyond simply providing tools.
A culture that encourages crossing boundaries
Beyond the scope of FDE, there are plenty of opportunities to get directly involved in product improvement initiatives and organizational development.
